A mate from the RECS club has proposed me to play a part of the Borodino scenario;: the flank attack of Poniatowski  ( http://aoev2.blogspot.com.es/2014/01/el-ataque-de-poniatowski-en-borodino.html ). So that after reviewing my troops I noticed that I didn't have the militia. In that very moment I started to check my  box of miniatures to paint and found enough troops so as to make them. They were some minis that I had bought from Capitan games last year, and that had gone directly to the lead pile.

The first drawback was the poor finish of the miniatures. Almost all had excess or lack of material, what was weird because some years before I had bought that miniatures (whe they were Warmodelling) and I hadn't had those problems.

After much filing and cutting, I prepared enough miniatures to paint the brigade.

A bit of Army painter black spray finished off with some Vallejo black colour let the miniatures prepared to paint.

Firstly, the coats. I used two base colours to give them a little more variation.

After this I applied the base for the rest of the equipment (muskets, backpaks, straps...).

Y este es el resultado final:
And this is the final result:

Now to prepare some more russians...just in case.

While I continue painting the carthaginian army, I've made a small stop to paint a pair of greek generals from the Xyston company. If I don't remember badly, both are from the Macedonian companion pack. But they're so great...

Hanau 1813

Empleamos el reglamento Age of eagles 2.
Last Sunday we’ve been playing the Hanau in the RECS club of Gavà. We recreated the battle in which an Austro-Bavarian army  tried to cut the way of the remains of the French Grande Armée, retreating to France after the Leipzig defeat.
This army was confident in stopping the French army time enough for the allied armies that pursued Napoleon and the remaining nucleus of troops were chased and captured. What they didn’t count was that Napoleon had the Guard by his side…
We used the Age of Eagles 2 rules. More information on this rules and our games can be found in http://aoev2.blogspot.com.es/ .  Also, you can find more information on the battle in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Hanau

Preparando el escenario / Preparing the scenario

La caballería francesa saliendo del bosque / French cavalry going out of the forest.

Gran melée de caballería en el flanco derecho / Big cavalry melée in the right flank

Granaderos austríacos formando cuadro / Austrian grenadiers forming square

La lucha por el bosque / The fight for the forest

Los Bávaros... esperando / The Bavarians...waiting

The cemetery; just the small group in the left is french.

It was a enjoyable scenario, in which both sides sweated and swore up to the final outcome. Well, everyone but the Bavarians who kept themselves prudently at a distance because of the dice. We are waiting to repeat the scenario!
